Plagemesu - Punta S’arena

Is closest beach to Residenza Su Prelau, is reachable in few minutes by car or by bicycle through a bike path. It’s a beautiful sandy beach with medium grain golden sand and some parts characterized by riffs. It has a big extension (4 km shoreline) so overcrowding its impossible. Rocky platforms under seabed in front of the beach allows a safe bathing. Beach has also a nice pine forest at the back, where find relief during hottest hours in summer.

Masua

Is about 15 minutes by car from Residenza Su Prelau, is one of the most photographed Sardinia corner. Limpid water and a very fine light sand. Few hundreds meters far from the shore stands out well-known Pan di Zucchero stack, raises for 132 meters above sea level. For submarine speleology lovers are to report interesting sea and underwater caves opens near this beautiful natural monument. We recommend a boat tour of the area.

Portopaglietto

Just 10 kilometers far from Residenza Su Prelau. After going along a panoramic road with an amazing view we reach Portoscuso (very nice coastal town). Portopaglietto beach is close to town centre. Reefs come before sandy shore while ahead south, very close, can see houses and Paleturri Spanish Tower. Sandy shore is made by light and fine sand with low and calmness depth.

Portixeddu

This beach is not far from Buggerru reachable with a beautiful coastal road. Fine grain ochre sandy shore at north side, near to spur where are built houses, is substituted by riffs. Seabed is deep. As sandy shore starts you can can see the small Rio Mannu flow in calmness sea water. At beach back there is a thick pine wood.

Cala Domestica

Is a beach enclosed between cliffs, an extremely beautiful place, that is composed by a big beach and a second little one, set in a small bay, reachable through a tunnel dug in the rock. Calcareous hills defend this coast part from winds and streams, while in the beach back there is a very nature explosion with thick Mediterranean maquis covered rugged reliefs.

Scivu

Is still an unpolluted paradise only 45 minutes far from Residenza Su Prelau. Is a very long beach seldom visited because is little known, reachable by car or with a 4x4 vehicle.

Piscinas

Is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia where you can admire the highest dunes in Europe. Is it far just 1 hour by car from Residenza Su Prelau.

archaeological sites

Nuraghe Seruci

The nuragic complex of Seruci is an important archaeological site that extends over six hectares, located in the territory of the municipality of Gonnesa. It is about 5 km from the Residenza.

Antas Temple

The temple of Antas is a Punic-Roman temple dedicated to the worship of the eponymous god of the Sardinian Sardus Pater Babai (Sid Addir for the Carthaginians). It is located about ten kilometers south of the town of Fluminimaggiore, in an area where the Carthaginians and Romans settled, attracted by the abundant deposits of lead and iron in the area. It is about 28 km from the Residence.

Porto Flavia

Porto Flavia is a former mine and port of embarkation for material extracted from nearby mines. It is about 15 minutes from the Residence.

Galleria Henry

Excavated in 1865 is the most important work of the great mine of Planu Sartu allowed the transport of minerals by means of a rail from underground yards to the distant washery.

Su Mannau cave

The Cave of Su Mannau is in the Municipality of Fluminimaggiore a few kilometers from the Green Coast.

It develops for almost 9 km of development in limestone dating back to the Middle Cambrian (540 million years).
